BOSTON, July 30, 2019 — FlatWorld, a digital-first publisher of award-winning college learning materials that are both affordable and high quality, today announced that Chris Puzzo has joined the company as vice president of product & engineering. In his role, Puzzo will lead FlatWorld’s engineering and design teams in continuing to enhance FlatWorld’s digital product line, which includes customizable textbook subscription solutions, a robust homework and quiz platform, and instructor supplements.

“More than any other company I’ve seen in the textbook industry, FlatWorld has shown that top-of-the-line digital products don’t have to come with top-of-the-line price tags,” said Puzzo. “Joining a company that is as committed to quality as it is to affordability very much aligns with my interests in creating high-quality digital solutions that are accessible to everyone.”

Puzzo brings to FlatWorld product and engineering experience from a wide range of leading consumer and enterprise companies. Prior to joining FlatWorld, Puzzo was the director of engineering at Lovepop, a company that creates beautiful, laser-cut pop-up cards. Puzzo’s previous roles also included principal software engineer for Rethink Robotics, principal engineer for Swirl Networks, and software engineer for a number of tech companies, including Vlingo, American Well, and Vgo Software.

“FlatWorld has always been a digital-first provider of affordable and highly-quality course materials. As part of our digital-first commitment, we’re constantly looking for new ways to make our platform as engaging and user-friendly as possible,” said Alastair Adam, co-CEO of FlatWorld.” “Chris’s background gives him an incredibly unique perspective on how to create best-in-class digital experiences, and I look forward to working with him on continuing to make product that students and professors love.”
