Greg Autry

Thunderbird School of Global Management

Greg Autry (PhD University of California, Irvine) is Clinical Professor of Space Leadership, Policy, and Business at Thunderbird School of Global Management, Visiting Professor in the Institute for Security Science and Technology at Imperial College London, and affiliate professor with the Interplanetary Initiative at Arizona State University where he leads the world’s first degree-program in the business of space. He also serves as the Chair of the Safety Working Group on the Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee (COMSTAC) within the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); a former advisor to Relativity Space, a startup rocket manufacturer; a board member of Interstellar Lab; and Vice President for Space Development at the National Space Society. Greg previously served as White House Liaison with the NASA and was Presidential Nominee for Chief Financial Officer of NASA. Prior to joining Thunderbird School of Global Management, Greg was Assistant Professor of Clinical Entrepreneurship in Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.

Greg is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded HAL Labs, a game developer that coded an Apple version of Pac-Man while he was still a high-school student. That software was subsequently purchased by Atari. Greg also co-founded Dr. Micro, a PC services firm sold to CompuCom System; Wired Images, an ecommerce content creator for Planet Rx; Network Corps, a developer of healthcare enterprise applications for Kaiser Permanente; and 121C, an upcycler of aerospace carbon fiber scrap.
