The Art of Leadership and Supervision is appropriate for Leadership, Organizational Management, or Supervision courses taught primarily in departments of business or management at the undergraduate level at two- and four-year colleges and universities, as well as at the MBA level. This book may also be used in leadership courses that are offered in other colleges or departments, such as public policy, military science, nursing, and education.
The Art of Leadership and Supervision is inspired by the idea that leaders consciously leverage creative imagination. This imagination combines with their own technical, interpersonal, and decision-making skills, inspiring others to collaborate in order to fulfill the goals and mission of the organization. In addition to describing core leadership theories, The Art of Leadership and Supervision clearly outlines the practical implementations of those theories. This uniquely accomplished blend of theory and practice encourages students to thoughtfully consider their own leadership styles while immediately applying the concepts they have learned to their own daily lives. Plentiful self-assessments engage students while helping them determine their readiness for leadership and how they might respond to future leadership challenges and opportunities.
